Community Invited to Join Walk for Suicide Prevention
The community is invited to join the Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ Out of the Darkness Campus Walk 2023 on Saturday, April 1, hosted by the Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ Mental Health Club and sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Building Local Partnerships to Benefit Students, Employers
Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ recently hosted a Community Partner Breakfast that included representatives from 28 organizations in Southeastern Connecticut who joined Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ staff and faculty to explore partnerships to provide student learning opportunities and meet employer needs. The organizations represented both current and potential partners in behavioral health, culture and tourism, disability services, education, healthcare, immigration support services, mental health services, and suicide prevention and awareness.

Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ Undergoes Evaluation for Re-Accreditation
Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ is currently engaged in a re-accreditation process with the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), with whom the College has been accredited since 1956. The College was last reviewed in 2013.

Funding to Help Upskill Regional Workforce
U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney (D-CT) recently presented Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ with newly released Community Project funding of $550,000 for its Digital Innovation Hub for Educational Excellence (DIHEE). Designed to prepare the regional workforce for in-demand careers, the DIHEE will help individuals seeking to upskill and expand their job opportunities.

Taino Chief Shares Indigenous Caribbean History
In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, the Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ Multicultural Student Union invited Chief Jorge Baracutei Estevez to speak about the indigenous Higuayagua Taino people of the Caribbean.

Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ Joins Great Northeast Athletic Conference
Starting in the 2023-2024 academic year, Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ will be a core member – one of 16 schools – of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. The move comes after Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ’s current conference, the New England Collegiate Conference, will cease to be an NCAA Division III Athletic Conference, as of Fall 2023.
