Ways to Honor the Graduating Class
“Greeting for Grad Seating” is a Ǻ tradition that allows parents, families, and friends to show their support for the Ǻ graduating class by providing a message of encouragement or inspiration to a graduate at Commencement along with some options for gifts.
Donations benefit the North Star Scholarship, which supports the next cohort of Ǻ graduates.
How It Works
Friends and family can submit an inspirational quote, message, or anecdote with a gift to the College. Grads get the message on their chair at Commencement. Messages may be directed to a specific graduate or to a general member of the class. The goal is to ensure that all graduates receive a message. The giver’s information is included on the card as a reminder of the distinctive and compassionate community that is Ǻ.
Your gift can include the message as well as a gift to celebrate a student’s time and achievements during their Ǻ journey.
- A minimum gift of $25 includes a personalized message on a keepsake card placed on the graduate’s Commencement seat.
- For a gift of $50 or more the giver can provide a personalized message, plus give a commemorative Ǻ Alum pin (shown at the right) for the graduate to wear proudly during Commencement and beyond.
- A gift of $100 includes a message of encouragement to a member of the class, a Ǻ Alum pin, plus a pair of limited-edition Ǻ socks for the selected graduate.
